Two new supporters of The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity' Big Lego® Brick Hospital

Teams at Arriva North West and Penkeths added some fun to the ‘roads’ around the giant replica of the new cancer hospital, which is currently under construction in Liverpool city centre.

You can now see a LEGO brick Arriva bus, picking up construction workers from a bus shelter along with some delivery drivers in a Penkeths van, delivering the new hospital’s LEGO brick furniture!

When complete, the Big LEGO Brick Hospital will measure just under 2m high and will contain more than 100 rooms and 200 mini figures – such as nurses, doctors and construction workers - in the completed model.

Members of the public can buy a brick for £1 as part of the fundraising campaign, which aims to raise £500,000 towards construction of the specialist hospital and improvements to the Wirral site, but local businesses are also lining up to sponsor LEGO brick bedrooms, hospital equipment and mini figures.

Arriva had pledged its support for the project and made a £2,000 donation to the charity's fundraising efforts, while Penkeths donated £1,000.

They’re some of the first businesses in the region, along with Agent Marketing who gifted a bespoke website for the appeal, to sign up and show support to the charity, by pledging the funds to contribute to the building of the new cancer hospital in Liverpool city centre.

Katrina Bury, head of the Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, said: "I would like to extend my thanks to those companies who have sponsored The Big LEGO Brick Hospital, helping us in our pledge to raise £500,000 towards the construction costs of our new state of the art hospital in Liverpool.”

The brick structure has so far been positioned at some of the busiest spots and tourist attractions across Liverpool while it’s under construction, including the Royal Albert Dock, the M&S Bank Arena and University of Liverpool.
